NATCHEZ — Services for Ruth Martin Hunt, 65, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at her residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Egypt Baptist Church in Kingston with the Rev. Earnest Ford Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Martin was born Nov. 22, 1951, in Natchez, the daughter of Walter Martin and Sarah J.L. Martin.
She was a 1970 graduate Sadie V. Thompson High School.
Her employment included Natchez-Adams School District, George’s Department Store and International Paper Company. She was retired.
She was Baptist. Ms. Hunt enjoyed fishing and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Margaret Letcher Sr.; one stepdaughter, Alicia Hunt; great-grandmother, Jane Ivory; and godfather, Jimmy Lee Ivory.
Survivors include a devoted son, Marvin Martin Sr. and wife, Victoria; one stepdaughter, Courtney Hunt; one stepson, David Hunt and wife, Brandy, of Baton Rouge; nine sisters, Arbordella, Avis, Georgia, Clarise, Margaret and husband, Edward, Debra, Sarah and husband, Curtis, Adrell and Brenda; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be the class of 1970, Jerry Bates, Jamal Bates, Tylon Martin, Terry Hatton and Keion Thomas.
