FERRIDAY — A memorial service for Marion Elizabeth Crelia, 77, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, March 19, 2017, in Ridgecrest, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Ferriday Church of Christ with John Barker officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Mrs. Crelia was born April 12, 1939, in Malborough, England, the daughter of Victor James Baggs and Doris May Howe Baggs.
In 1956, she married Roy Crelia in Swindon, England, and moved to St. Joseph, La., in 1959.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, an avid Louisiana State University and New Orleans Saints fan, loved working in her yard and loved all the children she cared for.
Mrs. Crelia was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Pauline Sweatman.
Survivors include two sons, Victor Crelia of Fredricksburg, Va., and Roy Crelia Jr. of Ferriday; one daughter, Vicki Cothren and husband, David, of Natchez; two brothers, Peter Baggs of Highworth, England, and Gerald Baggs of Exning, England; two sisters, Valerie Clarke of Ipswich, England, and Susan Carter of Bury St. Edmonds, England; four grandchildren, Michael Crelia of Rutherglen, Va., Alex Crelia and Amanda Crelia, both of Fredricksburg, and Daniel Cothern of Los Angeles; and four great-grandchildren, Patrick, Joshua, Aiden and Desiree.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
