NATCHEZ — Services for William “Bill” Elliott Withers, 29, of Oxford, formerly of Woodville, will be 2 p.m. today at Laird Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Woodville under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Mr. Withers was born Oct. 19, 1988, in Natchez, the son of John “Jack” Durham Withers Jr. and Deborah Ann Elliott Withers.
He was a member of the NJROTC and a lifetime member of the NRA. He had hundreds of trophies, plaques, medals and certificates for marksmanship throughout the years, placing first in the state of Mississippi and among the top 10 in the nation.
He was a loving and devoted son, putting his education on hold to care for his mother after she was diagnosed with cancer.
Mr. Withers later continued his education and received his associate degree at Copiah-Lincoln Community College Natchez Campus. He moved to Oxford to complete his studies at the University of Mississippi. He met the love of his life, Irene, and they did everything together and loved life together. Dedication to each other was and is an understatement. No one could be more compatible than these two, which is why they exchanged vows April 29, 2016, at a beautiful ceremony. He was manager of Home Depot in Oxford.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include his wife and soul mate, Irene “Lee Ann” Withers; his father of Woodville; one brother, John “Thomas” Withers of Woodville; mother-in-law, Jennifer Hinson Butler and father-in-law, Ramey S. Butler of Kosciusko; one uncle, Charles “Dick” Withers and wife, Francis, of Byram; and a number of in-laws and cousins, who will all miss him in their daily lives.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Butler, Alex Walters, Thomas Fortyz and Jared Maas.
