NATCHEZ — Services of Charles E. Lipscomb, 75, of Natchez, who died Saturday, March 11, 2017, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Community Chapel Church with the Rev. Bo Swilley, the Rev. Grady Fulton, Ken Allen and Michael Champ officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the church.

Mr. Lipscomb was born Nov. 5, 1941, in Natchez, the son of David A. Lipscomb Sr. and Lennie Mae Johnson Lipscomb.

He was an avid fisherman and very family oriented. He was a loving father and grandfather.

Mr. Lipscomb was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charles “Charlie” Lipscomb; three brothers, David Lipscomb Jr., Robert Lipscomb and James Lipscomb; and one sister, Ruth Ann Dawson.

Survivors include his faithful companion of 28 years, Texie Wallace; four children, Allen Lipscomb and his wife, Becky, Callie McElroy, Bobby Boyd and wife, Karen, and Tessie McElroy and husband, Fred; five grandchildren, Seth Lipscomb, Allie Lipscomb, Chris McElroy, Christy McElroy and Sebastian Webb; one sister, Dorothy Holder and husband, James; one brother, Fred Lipscomb and wife, Karen; a number of nephews, great-nephews, nieces, great-nieces and cousins; and lifelong and special friends, Jimmy Whitt and William “Bill” Murray.

Pallbearers will be Randy Lipscomb, Jamie Lipscomb, Lance Prather, Michael Champ, Fred Johnson and Charles Mobley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Whitt and grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Community Chapel Church Youth Fund.
