NATCHEZ — Services for Willie A. Payne, 67, of Natchez, who died Thursday, March 9, 2017, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Hill Baptist Church No. 1, 349 Lower Woodville Road in Natchez, with the Rev. John W. Scott Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Church of Jesus Christ God’s Son Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mr. Payne was born Feb. 10, 1950, the son of Duey Proby and Ethel Payne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael C. Payne; two sisters; and one brother.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Payne; three daughters, Tanyala Payne-Mitchell, Ayanne Logan and Walidah Smith and husband, Jerome; one son, Kejuan T. McClain Sr. and wife, Vernonia Barfield; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Edna Ford; one brother, David Earl Proby; mother-in-law, Jannie Murphy; and a number of other relatives and friends.
