NATCHEZ — The Natchez Campus of ChristLife at the River will continue its three-day revival “Restoration” at 7 p.m. today and 6 p.m. Sunday at the church in downtown Natchez.
The local campus is expecting church leaders from other campuses to visit. The Rev. Wes Hamlin of Jackson will minister to those in attendance. The music will be under the direction of Rebecca Peacock, of Jackson.
Nikki Gillespie, wife of the Rev. Rick Gillespie said he is excited about the event and is hoping for a great turnout.
“Everyone in the area is invited to attend the revival with us even if they do not attend church here,” Gillespie said. “We will have child care available as well, and there is no cost for any of it.”
She said the purpose of the revival is to serve others in love, and she believes there is a real need for revival in the area.
“There is an area-wide desperation for more of His spirit,” Gillespie said. “People want to draw closer to Jesus and are in passionate pursuit of our Restorer.”
While the church has been in the area for six years, with an official launch in 2013, this is the first time they have hosted a revival.
“Life tends to make us comfortable in earthly ways yet starves us of the one true way to sustain us — spiritually, emotionally and mentally,” Gillespie said. “The revival is meant to bring us to the place where we need Him alone.”
All revival events and activities are scheduled to take place at the church located at the corner of Canal and Jefferson Streets.
