Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said Dunigan and Burford are accused of stealing two shotguns, a hunting rifle and other items from the residence in Clarke County, in eastern Mississippi, just south of Meridian. The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office alerted the Adams County Sheriff’s Office that Dunigan and Burford could be in Adams County Thursday.

Patten said within two hours of receiving this information, Adams County deputies had located and arrested the suspects without incident at a camper on Timberlake Road. The arrest occurred at approximately 8 p.m.

“This arrest is the fifth of its kind made by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office this week, where all five subjects had been entered into the National Crime Information Center as wanted fugitives,” Patten said. “All five were arrested this week without incident, which is a testament to the training and dedication that is put into serving this community.”

Two of the fugitive arrests included Jeremy Paul Holmes, 35, who was arrested Tuesday for failing to register as a sex offender locally and in Livingston Parish, as well as his alleged girlfriend, Rebecca Kay Chandler, 37, who was charged with harboring a fugitive. Holmes and Chandler were arrested at 110 Oakland Drive.

Holmes was additionally charged by Adams County for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon because deputies allegedly recovered a high-powered rifle from the residence.

The online sex offender registry on the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office website shows that Holmes was convicted for oral sexual battery in April 2006.

Patten said Friday Chandler and Holmes have been picked up by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Dunigan and Burford were at the Adams County Jail Friday afternoon on a hold for the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office.
