NATCHEZ — Services for Alice Marie “Rita” Day, 70, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curt Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the funeral home.
Mrs. Day was born March 16, 1946, in Natchez, the daughter of Carl Edward Norris and Julia Merle Strong Norris.
She was a homemaker most of her life.
Mrs. Day was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Frances Barrett; one niece, Mary Ann Phillips; two brothers-in-law, Bob and Bill King; paternal grandparents, Paul and Carrie Brown; and maternal grandparents, Tommy Lee and Aubra Strong.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Odell Day Sr.; three sons, Robert Day Jr. and wife, Jeannette, of Natchez, David Day of Summit and Timothy Day and wife, Samantha, of Natchez;  two brothers, Carl Norris Jr. and wife, Janice, and Tommy Norris and wife, Maria, all of Natchez; six sisters, Clarise Arnold of Hammond, La., Aleta Taylor and husband, Shelby, of Atlanta, Pat Jackson, Joyce Reid and husband, Tommy, Jeannie Buckles, and Linda Richardson, all of Vidalia;  sister-in-law, Martha Roy and husband, Glen, of Natchez; six grandchildren, Anthony Day, Aaron Day, Corvan Day, Zack Day, Jarrett Day and Shyanne Day; one great-granddaughter, Kalee Williams; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Zack Day, Aaron Day, Mark Norris Jr., Jarrett Day, Eric Turnage  and Corvan Day.
