NATCHEZ — Services for Katherine Alexander Floyd Carraway Bates, 84, who died February 25, 2017, will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Briarwood Church of Christ in Natchez with the Rev. Denny Calloway officiating.
Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Skelton Funeral Home of Reform, Ala.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Bates was born March 26, 1932, in Natchez, the daughter of Farrah and Ruth Alexander. She spent most of her life in Natchez. She was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Natchez, Brownsville, Texas, and Alexandria, La., before retiring from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Alexandria, La.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Percy W. Floyd, her second husband Rexall A. Carraway, her third husband Jack Bates; two step-sons, Sheldon Foy Carraway and Rex Glenn Carraway; three sisters, Martha Iseman, Marilyn Bailey and Carolyn Hill; two brothers, Farrah Alexander Jr. and Charles M. Alexander.
Survivors include her son, Percy W. “Billy” Floyd Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Northport, Ala.; stepdaughters Sandra Carraway Allen of Crocket, Texas and Connie B. Whitehead of Natchez; grandson William Garrison Floyd of Northport, Ala.; step-granddaughter Stephanie Morris, step grandsons Lance Cole and Preston Glenn Carraway; one brother Robert Alexander and his wife, Shirley, of Harvey, La., and one sister Frances Hammond of Harvey, La.
Pallbearers will be Garrison Floyd, Brian Hill, Phillip Hill, T.J. Bailey, Keith Lee and Michael Anderson. Honorary pallbearers include Ken Olivet, Talmadge Anderson, Albert Lee French and Jim Hill.
