Adams County Christian School built up its lead through the first three quarters, then had to hold off a furious fourth-quarter rally by host Simpson Academy to take a 46-45 win Friday night in a girls’ semifinal game at the MAIS Class AAA South State Tournament.

The Lady Rebels led the Lady Cougars 13-11 at the end of the first quarter, 21-16 at halftime, and 37-28 at the end of the third quarter. Then the Lady Cougars cut into that lead and almost came out with another thrilling win. However, even Morgan Griffith’s game-high 28 points were not enough.

Brianna Henson led ACCS with 17 points while Anna McDaniel poured in 12 points and Bailey Boyd added nine points.
