METAIRIE, La. — Elliot Coleman Evans, 84,  died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Tharp-Sontheimer Funeral Home in Metairie, La.

Mr. Evans was a native of Waterproof. He lived the majority of his life in New Orleans after graduating from Tulane University.

Elliot was an extreme car enthusiast. He raced in the 50s and early 60s. He was the owner and operator of Tourist Trophy Garage and had a major impact on the local British car scene. He was also a voracious reader and an avid gardner.

Elliot most always left a lasting impression on all he met and he had a number of friends.

Survivors include three children, Christopher and wife, Netta, Suzonne and husband, Bill, and Sean and wife, Donna; one grandchild, Shane; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jace.
