Drug bust leads to 6 arrests so far

NATCHEZ — A three-day methamphetamine bust led to the arrest of six people with more arrests pending, Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies said Friday.
Special Operations Maj. Shane Daugherty said the suspects arrested from Wednesday afternoon to early morning Friday were reportedly intertwined in the same drug ring and were being supplied with drugs from sources in Concordia Parish and Fayette.
Grady L. Fleming Jr., 45, 225 S. Walnut St., Meadville, was the first arrested at approximately 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was charged with controlled substance violation.
The next group was arrested at approximately 2 p.m. Thursday and were coming into Natchez from Vidalia.
Cathy Goodwin, 43, 809 Gregory St., Vidalia, and Shelby L. Johnson, 25, 129 Auburn Ave., were charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Daugherty said the two had a 3-month-old baby in the vehicle at the time of their arrest.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Brett L. Page, 43, 6 Knotts Road, and Leah G. Nugent, 32, 2 Owl Lane, were arrested. Page was charged with possession of schedule II drugs with intent and Nugent possession of schedule II drugs.
The final arrest occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. Friday. Farron L. Lewis, 46, 186 Harris Lane, Ferriday, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Daugherty said Lewis had a female in the vehicle with him, but she was not charged.
Daugherty said he would only provide limited details on the drug ring as investigation is ongoing.
Fleming was released Wednesday on a $7,500 bond. Lewis was released Friday on a $1,000 bond.
Goodwin, Johnson, Page and Nugent were all in jail Friday evening with no bonds set.
