NATCHEZ — An Adams County man has been arrested for reportedly embezzling $30,000 from a lumber company while he was an employee.
Adams County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Jerry Brown said Travis S. Proby Sr., 33, 3328 Cannonsburg Road, was charged with 15 counts of embezzlement for reportedly embezzling money from Rives & Reynolds Lumber Company.
Brown said Proby was reportedly in charge of providing truck drivers with tickets to be paid once they weighed in at the company’s scales. Proby allegedly gave the drivers their tickets then duplicated the tickets so he could be paid himself.
Proby was released from the Adams County Jail Monday on a $75,000 bond.
