NATCHEZ — Services for Virginia “BaeBee” Smith Hauer, 60, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Burial will follow at Leesdale Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:45 p.m. today with a celebration of life wake service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Visitation will continue Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Hauer was born May 28, 1956, in Natchez, the daughter of Lawrence Butler and Dorothy Smith.
She was a high school graduate and worked as an apartment manager. She was a member of Melrose Church of Christ where she served as director of the food fellowship.
Virginia enjoyed cooking, dancing, singing, listening to music, making others laugh and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Hauer was preceded in death by her mother; one son, Nolan Smith; and one brother, Carlos Turner.
Survivors include her father and wife, Beverly, of Chicago; one son, Wesley Smith and wife, Erica, of Frisco, Texas; four daughters, Brandi Smith of Arlington, Texas, Deatrice Parsons and husband, Roland, of Houston, Courtney Brooks of Natchez and Daffney McDaniel and husband, Thierry, of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Mary Ellen Butler and Hilaree Butler of Chicago; goddaughters, Takeisha Owens and Lillian “Lucy” Conner of Natchez; 10 grandchildren, Bradyn, Jalyla, Myles, Nyla, Jakaren, Jakayla, Jordan, Peyton, Roland II and Takeria Owens; and other relatives and friends.
