VIDALIA — A Vidalia man was arrested this past weekend in connection with a Ferriday burglary.

Jeremy Blake Walsworth, 24, 115 North Grove Drive, was arrested Sunday for criminal trespass and burglary of an inhabited dwelling.

Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Vernon Stevens said witnesses reported seeing a male in a late model white Ford F-150 truck at the scene of a Louisiana 568 burglary.

Through forensic evidence obtained from the doors of the residence and witness statements, investigators were led to search Walsworth’s residence, Stevens said.

Stevens said during the search, deputies reportedly found a 40-inch television alleged to have been stolen during the burglary.

Walsworth was not at the residence during the search, but Stevens said shortly following an area alert being released to law enforcement agencies, Vidalia Police Department officers apprehended Walsworth near the foot of the Mississippi River bridge.

Walsworth was in jail Wednesday on a $40,000 bond and a probation and parole hold.
