NATCHEZ — Services for Delilah Barnes Curtis Green, 63, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Anthony Colenberg officiating.   01_17-delilahbcgreen-obitpic
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. today at the funeral home with a celebration of life wake service at 6 p.m.
Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Green was born Aug. 26, 1953, in Natchez, the daughter of Eddie Mosby and Annie B. Barnes Jackson.
She was a 1970 graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School. In 1974, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business education with honors and in 1978, a master’s degree in business education from Alcorn State University.
Delilah was an active member of the St. Paul AME Church where she served on the steward and trustee boards. She also served diligently as assistant church secretary. She enjoyed attending church, participating in church activities, bowling, billiards, puzzles, reading, and listening to gospel music.
Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Isaac Barnes Sr. and Cynthia Barnes; two uncles, Isaac Barnes Jr. and Peter Granger; and two cousins, Dr. Cynthia Ann Ford Hardy and Robert Ford.
Survivors include her husband, Willie S. Green Sr.; one son, Willie S. Green Jr.; two daughters, Dwilette R. Curtis and Gabrielle R. Green Herrington and husband, Erick; two brothers, Carl M. Jackson and Charles Evans; one sister, Shauna Deondra Harris Mitchell; two grandchildren, Cameron “Jay” Washington and Caleigh Herrington; and other relatives and friends.
