NATCHEZ — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office and Natchez Police Department joined forces Friday to arrest 11 people on outstanding warrants.

In what the two departments coined Operation United Front, deputies and officers began early Friday morning searching for the suspects, and by Friday night had arrested 11 people.

The outstanding warrants included misdemeanor and felony warrants, one sex offender warrant, and two people were arrested on warrants for out-of-state agencies.

Officers also plan to charge a suspect who fled in a vehicle, crashed then fled on foot. The suspect was apprehended a short time later and taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Sheriff Travis Patten said the purpose of the operation was to show that when “both agencies combine forces, they can serve the community in a better and more effective way.”

“Some of these people that were arrested … have had outstanding warrants for some time and were not able to be located, but with combined manpower and knowledge these warrants have been served,” Patten said.

Police Chief Daniel White said the police department and sheriff’s office have a good working relationship and plan to continue their joint efforts.

“The sheriff covers the whole county, and some of our criminals go outside the county, and some of the county’s inside the city limits, so it takes working together,” he said.
