NATCHEZ — A 38-year-old Natchez man was charged Friday with the statutory rape of a 12-year-old girl.

Michael Shane Seals, 18 Pin Oak Drive, was arrested for statutory rape and was jailed with a $90,000 bond Saturday afternoon.

Adams County Sheriff’s Office Spokeswoman Lt. Cal Green said the alleged statutory rape incidents with the female minor occurred over the past year. Green said she did not know how many occasions occurred over the past year.

Seals was arrested following an investigation including a forensic interview with the Child Advocacy Center.

Green said she did not know the relationship between the victim and Seals.

Green said the case is still under investigation.
