NATCHEZ — Check out some of the events happening in the area this weekend:

Fireworks over the river

When: 10 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 31

Where: Bluff park in Natchez, Vidalia Riverfront

Cost: Free to the public

Fireworks can be clearly seen along the bluff in Natchez and along the Vidalia Riverfront north of the Mississippi River bridges.

 

Unity, Prayer and Peace Celebration  

When: 5-7 p.m.

Where: Natchez City Auditorium

Cost: Free to the public

The Natchez Tricentennial concludes with a non-denominational community celebration filled with prayers, scriptural readings and a concert of prayer. Religious music will be performed by local singers and choirs. All area residents and visitors are invited to this spirit-filled event with special emphasis on unity and peace.
