NATCHEZ — Services for Marguerite Effie Johnson, 95, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bo Swilley officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Johnson was born Dec. 10, 1920, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Oscar Smith and Palimae Case Smith.
She was retired from Belk Department Store and had won their salesperson of the year for two consecutive years. She worked at a number of other area departments stores during her sales career.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, Barney Smith, Paul Smith, Sidney Smith, J. Huey Smith and Geneva Carroll.
Survivors include two sons, Randall Johnson and wife, Mary, and Wayne Johnson and wife, Donna, all of Natchez; four grandchildren, Doug Johnson and wife, Shannon, of McKinney, Texas, David Johnson and wife, Rhonda, of Bogue Chitto, Sarah Gatwood and husband, Lincoln, of Hattiesburg, and Lacie Johnson of Natchez; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Pearl Barlow of Natchez, and Wyonzie Hart of Bogue Chitto.
Pallbearers will be Roger Smith, David Johnson, Doug Johnson, Lincoln Gatwood, Jerry Smith and John L. Sullivan.
