FAYETTE — Services for Dorothy Griffin Bruce, 78, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Mount Baptist Church in Jefferson County with the Rev. John Hawkins officiating.  
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Natchez chapel and from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Bruce was born Jan. 17, 1938, in Natchez, the daughter of Sandy and Elizabeth Smith Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morris Bruce; one daughter, Narvelena Stewart; one sister, Sandra Lee Davis; one brother, Garfield Griffin; and one grandson, Christopher Griffin.
Survivors include one daughter, Leatha Johnson and husband, John, of Natchez; two sons, Willie Griffin and wife, Luvenia, of Huntsville, Ala., and Alvin Griffin and wife, Martha, of Natchez; seven sisters, Genora Norman, Alma Lee Teener and Nicole Griffin, all of Detroit, Gloria Jean Nelson, Patricia Tenner and husband, Roosevelt, Priscilla Tenner and husband, Cornelius, and Betty Jean Thomas, all of Natchez; a special friend, James Coleman; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
