Thanks to all who made job fair a success

Very few really good things happen in the Miss-Lou without a team of people and organizations that unselfishly join together and put forth a combined effort to make a difference. That is exactly what happened with the Job Fair at the Natchez Mall on Nov. 15.

The event was organized by Alcorn State University, Natchez Inc., Concordia Economic Development, WIN Job Center and Louisiana Works. And from that group, the collaboration just grew! Many thanks to the Natchez Mall management, The Natchez Democrat, First Natchez Radio group, WTYJ, the Natchez Convention Center, the Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce, those who shared the flyers and all the Facebook folks who helped spread the word!

There would not have been a job fair without all the companies that were there and all those area residents who attended. Then there was the Mall employee who saw us struggling with tables and chairs and jumped right in there to help with the setup. The guys from Delta Energy were lifesavers as well!

Plans are already in the works for future regional job fairs. It was obvious on Tuesday that employers are looking for good people, and good people are looking for good employment. But, in the meantime, the WIN Job Center and Louisiana Works are in the business of bringing those two groups together, and help is always available there. When our workforce improves, everything improves!

Thanks again to everyone for a successful job fair!
