NATCHEZ — Services for Josephine Blackwell, 90, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Glenburney Nursing Home, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Greater St. Mark Baptist Church with the Rev. Maurice Irving officiating.  1126-josephineblackwell-obitpic
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
Ms. Blackwell was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Natchez, the daughter of the Rev. Martin Henderson and Mary Johnson Henderson.
She was educated in the Adams County school district. She was retired.
Ms. Blackwell was a member of Greater St. Mark Baptist Church. She enjoyed baking.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leon, Martin and Sam Henderson; one son, Bob Earl Blackwell; one granddaughter, Tanika Blackwell; one great-great-granddaughter, Rami Smoot; one niece, Carol Cain; and one nephew, Bruce Cain.
Survivors include three sons, Larry Blackwell and wife, Melissa, and Dwayne Blackwell and wife, Cynthia, of Natchez, and Jimmy Blackwell and wife, Tarlyn, of Lancaster, Calif., four daughters, Edna Smoot of Dallas, Aline Mazique, Pamela Blackwell and Jacqueline Blackwell, all of Natchez; three sisters, Bessie Cain and husband, Joe, of Junction City, Kan., Margaret Ringgold of Las Vegas and Betty Bird of Lancaster; and other relatives and friends.
