Eddie Wenner Alexander

LORMAN — Services for Eddie Wenner Alexander, 97, of Port Gibson, who died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Christian Church in Lorman with the Rev. Dr. J.L. Hammitte officiating.

Burial will follow in Rose Hill Christian Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Alexander was born May 16, 1919, the daughter of Henry and Hermine Johnson.

She was a faithful and devoted member of Rose Hill Christian Church and served on the Mother’s Board as well as on the Christian General Aid Council.

Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ruben Alexander Jr.; one son, Carl Edwards Alexander Sr.; three grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; seven brothers; and seven sisters.

Survivors include one son, Freddie Lee Alexander; one daughter, Glendora Alexander-Muhammad and husband, Samed; a very dear granddaughter, Delphine Turner and husband, Willie; 16 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katie Lee Clark and Mary Green; one brother, Willie Johnson; and a number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
