Ricky and Lori Salyer announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Leigh Salyer to Sidney Chaffin, son of Stuart and Karen Chaffin, all of Brookhaven.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Brookhaven Academy and is attending the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.

She is the granddaughter of the late Ellis Russell and Nellene Philpott of Wesson and the late Carl Salyer and Jean Phillips of Brookhaven.

The groom-to-be is also a graduate of Brookhaven Academy and a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. He is employed by Yak Mat in Columbia.

He is the grandson of the late Houston Foster and Annie Ruth Foster of Brookhaven and Phillip and Rouchelle Chaffin of Natchez.

The wedding will be at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at The Barn at Bridlewood in Hattiesburg.

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.
