DOLOROSA — Services for Addie “Louise” McMorris, 87, of Dolorosa, who died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at Adams County Nursing Center, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Free Springs Baptist Church in Dolorosa with the Rev. George Noflin officiating.   1117-addielouisemcmorris-obitpic
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.
Ms. McMorris was born March 27, 1929, in Wilkinson County, the daughter of Willie L. McMorris and Annie E. Boyd McMorris Barnes.
She was educated in the Hyde Park school system in Wilkinson County. She was a member of Free Springs Baptist Church.
Ms. McMorris loved animals, especially dogs, cats and chickens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Henry L. Barnes; one daughter, Annie Mae McMorris; one son, Chalmer R. McMorris; one grandson, Bromine “Boo-dan” McMorris; and stepfather, Wiley Barnes.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Mae McMorris of Natchez and Geraldine M. Knight and husband, Joe, of Dolorosa; one brother, Willie L. McMorris of Dolorosa; godsister, Mary P. Brown and husband, Johnnie, of Natchez; sister-in-law, Dora Barnes of Rowlett, Texas; three grandchildren, Jeffery B. Knight of Dolorosa, Valencia K. Ward of Kennedale, Texas and Shameka McMorris of Natchez; and a number of other relatives and friends.
