VIDALIA — Laura Lee Messenger, 91, of Natchez, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at Adams County Nursing Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Messenger was born Oct. 12, 1925, in Harrisonburg, La., the daughter of Henry Reinninger and Cora Thornton Reinninger.
She was a faithful servant of the Lord. Laura loved her church family at Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Vidalia. She also loved gardening, helping people and cooking for all her loved ones.
Mrs. Messenger loved her community and church at Kendricks Fery in Wisner, La. As the Rev. Hall stated, “she was the best example of a virtuous woman.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Benjamin Messenger; special son-in-law, Don F. Wiley; two brothers, Henry Jack and Robert Earl Reinninger; and seven sisters, Ivy Pearl Reinninger, Margaret Hicks, Roma Faye Redmond, Eula Mae Parker, Earline Kay Bridges, Edna Marie Reinninger and Minnie Ophillia Reinninger.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Messenger Wiley of Natchez; one granddaughter, LaNan Wadlington and husband, Jeff, of Natchez; one great-grandson, Jeffrey Taylor Wadlington of Natchez; one great-granddaughter, Kelli Greer and husband, J.C., of Natchez; two brothers, Hardy Lee Reinninger and wife, Naty, of Utah and B.F. Reinninger of Monroe, La.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
