Weatherly, Vidalia come up short to Peabody, 61-32

Tristan Weatherly threw for 192 yards and four touchdowns, but Vidalia High School could not keep pace with Peabody High School as the Warhorses defeated the Vikings 61-32 Friday night in an LHSAA District 3-3A game.
Weatherly completed 10 of 22 passes with no interceptions. Jordan Mays had six catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns while Josh Pace had three receptions for 63 yards and two touchdowns for Vidalia (3-7, 1-6).
However, Peabody (7-3, 5-2) scored threw the air,
on the ground and in special teams. Talon Bowens threw three touchdown passes, all in the first half and all to Robert Perry, which went for 69, 20 and 37 yards.
The 69-yard touchdown pass from Bowens to Perry took place just 18 seconds into the game. The Warhorses led 28-6 before Weatherly connected with Pace on a 17-yard touchdown pass with eight seconds to go until halftime to make it a 28-13 game. Pace then returned the opening kickoff of the second half 86 yards for a touchdown and Roberto Garcia’s extra point cut Peabody’s lead to 28-20.
