The Adams County Christian School Rebels advanced to the second round of the MAIS Class AAA playoffs after blowing out the North Delta School Green Wave 48-21 Friday night.

“It was a good first round win,” ACCS coach David King said. “I was very proud of the way we came out focused against a good first round team.

“We ran the ball well. We showed some physicality, which is what you need to do in the playoffs.”

The Rebels started scoring on the first drive of the game, with George Scott III running the ball in from 27 yards out. ACCS went up 7-0 after Cristofer Thompson’s extra point.

On ACCS’s next possession, Julian Wilson increased the lead to 14-0 on a 52-yard run at the 6:12 mark in the first.

The Rebels went up 21-0 with 14 seconds left in the first quarter on a 10-yard run from Scott.

During North Delta’s next possession, quarterback Will Kidder found some success driving on screen passes, ultimately hitting tight end Luke Daniels in the end zone from 15 yards out. Hudson Parnell’s kick made it 21-7 with 6:15 to go in the second.

“That quarterback, he is the best we have seen so far this season, no question,” King said. “He is a very good quarterback.”

Scott answered on the next drive with a touchdown run from 51 yards out to increase the ACCS lead to 28-7 with 5:14 left in the half.
