VIDALIA — Graveside services for James Rayford Allred, 91, of Vidalia, who died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at Columns Nursing Home, will be at 2 p.m. today at Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Trey Caldwell officiating.
Burial will follow at the cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia.
Mr. Allred was born June 19, 1925, in Auburn, the son of Thomas Allred and Georgia Allred.
He was a resident of Vidalia and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Allred was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Rayford Dale Allred; son, Richard Dean Allred; five brothers, Troy, LeRoy, Lanny, Pearlie and Cliff Allred; and three sisters, Irene O’Brien, Margrette Berry and Mary Belle Scott.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Joyce Hampton Allred, of Vidalia; one daughter, Wanda Allred Frye and husband, Robert, of Hot Springs, Ark.; one son, Danny Gregory Allred of Ball, La.; two granddaughters, Sara Wells and husband, Shane, of Amory, and Jessie Blackard and husband, Will, of Delhi, La.; and two brothers, Kenneth Allred, and Larry Allred and wife, Clairice, all of Auburn; and five great-grandsons, Drew Thompson, Scott Thompson, Grant Blackard, Brett Wells and Casen James Wells.
Pallbearers will be his family.
