Get out your costumes and bring your best friend because it is time for the Longwood Halloween Carnival again. From 5 -8 p.m. Thursday, the members of The Pilgrimage Garden Club will be on the grounds of historic Longwood providing a few hours of family fun for you and your little ones.
We have a nice variety of games and activities including: Beastly Bean Bag Toss, Bewitched Buried Treasure, Boo Bowling, Coffin Cake Walk, Devilish Duck Pond, Freaky Face Painting, Fright Night Fishing, Full Moon Fortune Teller, Haunted Hayride, Jack-O-Lantern Jumpy, Mischievous Mystery Bowls, Pumpkin Painting, Terrified Tickers and Witch Hat Ring Toss.
Admission into the Carnival is $5 per car and participants then purchase tickets for 50 cents each or a $10 armband that allows them to play the games as many times as they like. The games will have prizes, and there are also activities that will offer fun, without prizes.
There is also a concessions tent which will have goodies for all the ghosts and ghouls in attendance. We will have drinks, baked goods, hot dogs, nachos and more. This year, we will have Halloween cups, designed by the talented Sarah Powers, in various colors featuring various seasonal sayings. Be sure to purchase all three!
We do hope that the community comes out to enjoy the evening’s festivities with the members of the PGC. We look forward to having a fun evening with as many of the Miss-Lou residents as possible.
From all of us on the Longwood Halloween Carnival Board, we thank you for making this event a great one every year, and we hope to continue the tradition for many more years to come.
Morgan Mizell is co-chair of the Longwood Carnival.
