NATCHEZ — An Adams County Correctional Center inmate has been arrested and a warrant is out for a guard following a contraband investigation.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said two warrants have been issued for the arrest of Chelsea Woods, 22, 188 Cannonsburg Road, Natchez. Patten said the sheriff’s office is actively seeking Woods.
Woods, a guard at the privately owned prison, allegedly smuggled plastic water bottles containing different flavors of alcoholic beverages into the facility on more than one occasion, sheriff’s deputies reported.
An inmate, Juan Jimenez, 32, was booked at the Adams County Jail Friday. Jimenez, 20 Hobo Forks Road, was charged with two counts of bribery and two counts of conspiracy.
Patten said Sunday Jimenez’s arrest was connected with Woods’ warrants, but he did not have any further information on Jimenez.
