Dan and Kathy Usnik of Natchez announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Beth Usnik to Benjamin Carney Long, son of Paul and Camille Kyzar of Natchez and Larry Long of Houston.
The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Adams County Christian School in Natchez and a 2009 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. In 2013, she received a master of science in nursing degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile. She is employed by Natchez Women’s Center as a women’s health nurse practitioner.
She is the granddaughter of the late George and Vivian Callender of Ocean Springs and the late Frank and Francis Usnik of Dunlo, Pa.
The groom-to-be attended Natchez High School and is a 2015 graduate of Bethel University in McKenzie, Tenn., with a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. He is a former Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputy and is currently employed by Bowie Outfitters in Natchez.
He is the grandson of the late RN Carney of Vidalia, the late Mary-Sue Miller of Natchez, William Long of Arizona and the late Rosa Maria Long of Puerto Rico.
The wedding will be at 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at St. Mary Basilica in Natchez.
A reception will immediately follow the ceremony at the Natchez Community Center.
