Tuesday last day to register to vote in Louisiana

VIDALIA — Tuesday is the last day to register to vote in Louisiana for the upcoming Nov. 8 election.
Concordia Parish residents seeking to register to vote can do so by visiting the registrar of voters office in the Concordia Parish Courthouse, located at 4001 Carter St. in Vidalia.
Voter registration applications can be found online at geauxvote.com. Residents can submitted an application online or print and mail the application to the registrar of voters office. A driver’s license is needed to register online.
To vote in Louisiana, a resident must be:
-U.S. citizen 18 years old on or before Election Day;
-Not be under an order of imprisonment for conviction of a felony;
-Not be under a judgment of full interdiction for mental incompetence or partial interdiction with suspension of voting rights.
Residents are required to prove age, residency and identity is registering to vote at a registrar of voters office with a driver’s license, birth certificate or other documentation, including a utility bill, payroll check or other government document that includes your name and address.
In addition to the presidential election, other races are on the ballot as well, including local positions.
Twenty-four candidates qualified for the U.S. Senate race.

-Billy Burkette, Republican
Judge, Court of Appeal, Third Circuit, First District, Division B:
-Van Kyzar, Democrat
-”Chris” Peters, Democrat
Vidalia city judge:
-Stuart Boykin, no party
-Scott McLemore, Republican
Vidalia City Judge George Murray is not seeking reelection.
Vidalia city marshal:
-”Jim” Boren, no party
-Frank Duson, Democrat
-Bruce Wiley, no party
