Wilkinson County tops Jefferson County

Jefferson County High School got off to a good start, but once Wilkinson County High School got going, there was little the Tigers could do to slow the Wildcats down Friday night.
Ja’Quorias Stewart threw five touchdown passes as Wilkinson County steamrolled its way to a 50-12 win over Jefferson County in an MHSAA Region 7-3A game.
Just 22 seconds into the game, Rah’Kendrick Reynolds threw a 65-yard touchdown pass to Jaqurious Blake to give the Tigers a 6-0 lead.
Stewart threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Travion Jones and his 2-point conversion run gave Wilkinson County the lead for good.
Jaquan Tickles recovered a Jefferson County fumble and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown for a 16-6 lead. Stewart threw four TD passes for 50-6 lead with 7:27 left in the third quarter.
Reynolds threw a 30-yard TD pass to Blake with 2:15 left in the third quarter for the Tigers.
Jefferson County (2-5, 1-1) plays at Wesson at 7 p.m. Friday. Wilkinson County (5-3, 2-0) plays at No. 1 Hazlehurst at 7 p.m. Friday.
