NATCHEZ — An inspection of both Mississippi River bridges will cause lane closures weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Monday and continuing through Oct. 19.

The Mississippi Department of Transportation will perform a routine detailed inspection of both bridges beginning next week. Traffic will remain passable on both bridges but will be limited to one lane during the inspections.

Wide loads of more than 11 feet will be restricted and will need to find alternate routes.

To accommodate motorists attending the Great Mississippi River Balloon Race in Natchez, inspections will stop at noon on Oct. 14 and resume at 8 a.m. on Oct. 17.
