Wow, what a year it has been celebrating Natchez’s 300th birthday! The Christmas in Natchez Committee and the Tricentennial Commission are joining forces to continue commemorating this year as we work to produce the best Christmas parade. However, we need the community to help if we want to have something to talk about for the next 300 years. The parade will be take place on begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3.
The theme for this parade will be Natchez Tricentennial Heritage Christmas Parade. What a perfect opportunity to recognize all the cultures and traditions of our past history: Indian, Spanish, French, English, African-American, as well as important moments in our history. This event allows a variety of opportunities for our story to be beautifully displayed. Please encourage your school clubs, church or civic groups,
Mardi Gras krewe, or family and friends to participate. We especially need parade floats. We can make this occasion an amazing experience in our city’s history, but we cannot do it without you.
How can you register? Go to Natchez300.com or Listenupyall.com for an application. If you have any questions, email Kari Blaney at First Natchez Radio Group at Kari@listenupyall.com. Also, if you have some great ideas, we want to hear from you. It is your history. Please come join in the fun.
