Delta Charter School had its hands full in its district opener last week when it faced LHSAA power Oak Grove last week.

This week figures to be no exception.

The Storm is set to take on St. Frederick High School Friday, which enters fresh off a 31-6 win over Beekman High School.

“They’re stout,” DCS coach Zach Rogel said. “They can run and pass equally effectively. We’ve faced some tough teams so far, but most of them are predominantly running teams, so we’ll have our hands full.”
The Storm (1-3) figure to rely heavily on its passing game, which is led by senior signal-caller Lee Lancaster.

“We’re calling his number a lot to make some good throws,” Rogel said. “He extends some plays with his feet, but we have to establish a running game to compliment that. We want to be more balanced this week.”

Rogel said a key to Friday’s tilt is his squads ability to slow down the Warriors’ rushing attack.
“We’re doing some new things defensively,” Rogel said. “We’re going to let the kids play football and take some chances.”

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
