Centreville set to travel to rising Central Private

The Centreville Academy Tigers (4-2, 2-0) will look to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the teams in MAIS District 5-AAA when they travel to Baker, La. to take on the Central Private School Rebels at 7 p.m. Friday.
Even though Central Private had to cancel its first two games of the season because of flooding, the Rebels (3-1, 1-1) enter with momentum on their side after a 34-24 win over Silliman Institute last week.
“This Central Private team seems to be a better team than they have been in the past,” Centreville assistant coach Robbie Isonhood said. “They’re looking to make a big push.”
Isonhood said the Rebels present a strong challenge on both sides of the ball.
“They’ve got good speed, and they seem to be a well-coached team,” he said.
The key for his squad, Isonhood said, is to slow down Central Private’s offense as well as sustaining drives.
“We can’t get stagnant. We’ve got to be able to score,” he said. “If we win this, it will put us at 3-0 going into Silliman (on Oct. 21). It’s pretty much a must-win for us.”
