NATCHEZ — Natchez police are searching for a man who reportedly robbed a gas station clerk at gunpoint Saturday afternoon.
Natchez Police Detective Jerry Ford said a man came in the Sprint Mart on Seargent S. Prentiss Drive beside Walgreens Pharmacy and across from Merit Health Natchez at approximately 2:45 p.m. and pulled a gun on the clerk. He then demanded the clerk open the register after which he took an undetermined amount of cash and fled.
Ford said police reviewed surveillance footage, which indicates the suspect is a black man.
“(The footage) wasn’t that great, but we are checking out other (information), and it is still under investigation at this point,” Ford said.
No one was injured in the robbery, Ford said, and it appears no one else was in the store besides the clerk at the time of the robbery.
