Natchez High hits road to face Vicksburg

Nearly one month has passed since Natchez High School’s last win, and head coach Roy Rigsby said his team is hungry for a win as it travels to Vicksburg High School today.
“They’re excited about playing this week and excited about the opportunity to win,” Rigsby said.
Natchez (1-2) played MHSAA Class 6A foe and heavily regarded Warren Central last week, falling 34-18. Rigsby didn’t see a lopsided loss, rather the first-year head coach saw potentially a look into a crystal ball.
“I think having an opportunity to see a top-5 team and being able to look at yourself and use them as some type of barometer of where you want to go,” Rigsby said. “That’s a good thing.”
Rigsby said his goal for today’s contest is to see steady improvement from his squad, as they navigate through a difficult stretch before entering Region 5-3A play next week at Provine High School.
“We’re trying to make sure we continue to get better every week,” he said.
Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
