Kenny and Charlene Rushing of Vidalia announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Courtney Faith Rushing to Howard Glenn Smith Jr., son of Neal and Nicki Vines of Winnsboro, La., and Howard and Misti Smith of Jena, La.
The bride-to-be is a 2011 graduate of Vidalia High School and attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La., majoring in psychology with a minor in English. She is employed by Biscuits and Blues in Natchez.
She is the granddaughter of Myrtle Green and the late Howard Rushing of Natchez, the late Elizabeth Clabaugh and Jerry Clabaugh of Killeen, Texas and the late Greg Callahan and Michele Callahan of Sammamish, Wash.
The groom-to-be is also a 2011 graduate of Vidalia High School and attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe, majoring in computer information systems. He is employed by Bryant Hammett & Associates LLC in Ferriday.
He is the grandson of Leon and Loretta Wyles of Ferriday, Miles and Mary Ann Smith of Ridgecrest and the late Rose Smith. He is the great-grandson of the late Leon and Genevieve Wyles of Ferriday and the late Joe and Pauline Barlow of Wisner, La.
The wedding will be at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at the gazebo in front of the home of Denny and Carol Braswell in Clayton.
A reception will follow at Panola Woods Country Club in Ferriday.
