NATCHEZ — Services for Alberta I. Green, 81, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Sibley with the Rev. Douglas Logan officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
A celebration of life wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and a visitation will follow.
Visitation will continue from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Green was born Nov. 30, 1934, in Natchez, the daughter of James Ivory Sr. and Rosie B. Porter.
She was educated in Adams County and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church where she served as a deaconess. She was also a member of the missionary society and past member of the usher board. She enjoyed crocheting and church related activities.
Mrs. Green was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Green; one daughter, Joyce M. Epps; one granddaughter, Genesa A. Green; and one brother, James Ivory Jr.
Survivors include three sons, James D. Green of Houston, Jerome Green and wife, Anita, and Efrem Green and fiancée, Shalisa; three daughters, Peggy Green and Jennifer Robinson, both of Natchez, and Roberta Kelly of Jackson; one brother, Danny Ivory of Luling, La.; two sisters, Alberta Ivory of Natchez and Shelia Ivory of LaPlace, La.; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
