The Cathedral Lady Green Wave had a rough game at the plate and in the circle Tuesday in a 9-1 loss to the MAIS Class AAAA Copiah Academy Lady Colonels.

Cathedral had just two hits and didn’t score until the top of the sixth inning when Mia Gamberi’s sacrifice fly brought in Lauren Dunbar. Marty Lewis allowed nine runs on 12 hits and four walks while striking out six batters.

“You’ve got to want it to win, and we’re not there,” Cathedral coach Gary Blackwell said.

Cathedral (6-5-2) plays on Saturday at the Brookhaven Academy Tournament.
