NATCHEZ — A Natchez woman reported missing Saturday was apparently located in New Orleans Tuesday.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said the family of Joycee Felter, 48, informed him that Felter walked into a courthouse in New Orleans, told security officers she had been reported missing in Natchez and asked to use a phone to contact her family.
Felter reportedly looked as if she had been assaulted, Patten said.
Family members were on their way back from New Orleans with Felter as of 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Patten said.
“We haven’t spoken to her. We haven’t seen her, and we can’t officially confirm it, but … we intend to talk to her tonight,” Patten said.
Felter was reported missing by her family Saturday after last being seen by friends Aug. 31.
Friends reportedly dropped off Felter at the residence of Richard “Money Bags” Hudnall on Old Highway 84 No. 1 at approximately noon Aug. 31.
“From what we know, (Felter) went to his house voluntarily and left town with him voluntarily,” Patten said. “What we have to determine is whether any crimes were committed, if they were committed in Adams County or if anything that happened would fall in another jurisdiction.
“But the good news, according to the family, is that she’s banged up, but she’s alive.”
