NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was charged Tuesday for allegedly beating another man on Broadway Street earlier this month.

Natchez Police Chief Daniel White said Matthew Golden, 23, 49 1/2 Homochitto St., was charged with aggravated assault and was released Tuesday on a $35,000 bond.

White said Golden’s alleged motive for the beating concerned an ex-girlfriend. The male victim suffered a head injury and was in the hospital for a week.
