FERRIDAY — Services for Andrew Walter Shulla, 79, of Harrisonburg, La., who died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family, will be 10 a.m. today at Comer Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with Weldon Blane Hebert and Danny Terral Hebert Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Oakgrove Cemetery in Winnsboro, La., under the direction of Comer Funeral Home.

Mr. Shulla was born Oct. 9, 1936, in Winton, Pa., the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Kovolcic Shulla.

Mr. Shulla was a U.S. Army veteran. After his discharge from the Army, he served in the U.S. National Guard. His favorite Bible passage was the 23rd Psalm. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Julie Elizabeth Shulla; five brothers, Joseph Shulla, John Shulla, Stephen Shulla, Michael Shulla and Frank Shulla; one sister, Mary Kabowski; and two former wives, Nita Cay Shulla and Bobbie Satterwhite Wiles Shulla.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Faye Herron Hebert Shulla; five sons, Emilio Andrew Shulla of Vidalia, Weldon Hebert and wife, Karen, of Central, La., Danny Hebert and wife, Susan, of Scott, La., Michael Wiles and wife, Christi, of Pine Prairie, La., and Frank Wiles of Texas; two daughters, Jennifer Hebert Fleming and husband, Jack, of Tempe, Ariz., and Vickie Roberts of Turkey Creek, La.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Johnson, Randy Morehead, Trey Ethridge, Mike Tubre, R.E. Clark and Jonathan Clark.
