NATCHEZ — Services for Longino Dennis, 81, of Natchez, who died Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Univesta Baptist Church in Doloroso.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Dennis was born May 30, 1935, in Doloroso, the son of Junia Wesley Dennis and Lucille Henyard Dennis.
He was a graduate of Johnson High School in Wilkinson County and was previously employed by Armstrong/Fidelity Tire and Rubber Company and a number of funeral homes. He also worked as a millwright in Crosby, Simsport, La., and Natchez.
Mr. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the Atlanta Braves, the New Orleans Saints and westerns.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Leonard and Susie Skipper; one stepson, Charles Skipper; five brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Hattie Skipper Dennis; two sons, Longino Dennis Jr. and wife, Daisy, and Eddie Lee Dennis; two daughters, Cassandra Denise Dennis and Aquetta Dennis Butler and husband, Calvin; two stepchildren, Eugene Skipper and wife, Veronica, and Deidre Skipper Stokes; one goddaughter, Dyann Moses and husband, Napoleon; seven grandchildren, Dalonda, Montrell, Natasha, Ashley, Quinesha, Darius and Calvin; two step-grandchildren, LeKetsha and Phillip; one daughter-in-law, Viola Dennis; four sisters-in-law, Mattie S. Banks, Rosie Skipper, Mary Dennis and Bessie Mae Dennis; and other relatives, co-workers and friends.
