NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Earl “Keith” Swoveland, 64, who died Friday, July 29, 2016, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Dooley of Wesson officiating.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Mr. Swoveland was born June 15, 1952, in Lonoke, Ark., the son of Earl Swoveland and Rose Frazier.
He spent his early years living in Coalgate, Okla. He then moved to Louisiana and attended school in Vidalia.
Keith’s career spanned more than 30 years in the oil industry as an on-shore and off-shore base operator directing and dispatching air craft, equipment, supplies and personnel to offshore operations. He worked bases in Fouchon, La., Galveston, Texas, and Corpus Christie, Texas, as well as spending a number of years working in Tanzania, Africa. He was well respected in the oil patch for his cool head and the professional manner in which he performed his job.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Shane.
Survivors include two sisters, Denise Landers and husband, Chris, and Darla Tippitt; one brother, John Swoveland; and a number of other family members.
He will be remembered for his generosity toward his lifetime friends and will be missed by many.
