FERRIDAY — Services for James Edward McMillon, 93, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rufus Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Michael Reed officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. McMillon was born July 14, 1923, in Winnfield, La., the son of Nolan and Mandia Mosley McMillon.

He had just celebrated his 93rd birthday in Hot Springs, Ark., with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Vernestine Mackey McMillon; three daughters, Pamela McWright and Patricia Milburn and husband, “Mil”, all of Houston, and Gretchen Cooper and husband, Edgar, of Camden, Ark.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
